Bennett’s Story

Bennett started having seizures in September of 2023. Weeks later, we found he had an abnormal MRI. After countless lab draws, MRI’s and lumbar pu, 2024nctures he was diagnosed with a rare, chronic, progressive neurological disorder called Rasmussens Encephalitis which leads to frequent seizures, mental decline, hemiparesis, and loss of motor skills and speech. The only known cure for this disease is a surgery called a hemispherectomy. A hemispherectomy surgery entails either disconnecting the abnormal half of the brain or fully removing the diseased half.
